This version of the bard's Scottish play accents the melody of Scotland and David Tennant has the right swagger for a kilt. The modern, humorous touches do not detract from power of the performances.

Much of its power comes from the simplicity of its visual presentation, which centers the actors above all. It’s a production tailor-made for a film release, and the end result is one of the best takes on the Scottish play in recent memory.

Previously saw the same play with Ralph Fiennes. This was a superior production in it's own right. Loved that it was actually Scottish, although the language was hard to understand at times. It's my favorite Shakespeare play and I was really impressed at the staging of this particular production. Besides, I am a HUGE David Tennant fan and he was very good in this show--subtle yet menacing without over emoting. Cush Jumbo was fantastic as Lady M. Could sense the love between the both of them ruined by their political aspirations and lust for power.

I live in the southwest USA and drove almost 200 miles round trip to see one of the best performances in my life. David Tennant, Cush Jumbo, and company were all excellent. David Tennant is always electrifying on stage and created an unforgettable Macbeth. Cush Jumbo was an outstanding Lady Macbeth. I couldn't ask for anything more.

5 stars. Though I did dislike that they zoomed into the glass box at the back, which was so much more effective as a looming presence in its whole. Still fantastic. The Harold Pinter production was even greater
