Wayne Dobie (Robert De Niro) is a shy cop whose low-key demeanor has earned him the affectionate nickname "Mad Dog." After Mad Dog saves the life of Frank Milo (Bill Murray), a crime boss and aspiring stand-up comedian, he's offered the company of an attractive young waitress named Glory (Uma Thurman) for a week. At first both are uneasy about the arrangement, but they eventually fall in love. However, the situation becomes complicated when Milo demands Glory back.

Tonally, it's not the film that got Scorsese's attention, Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, but set alongside any of McNaughton's pictures, [all] are formally of a piece: rhythmic, economical and quietly urgent.

This does have a Martin Scorsese vibe to it After Mad Dog saves a mafia king Frank Milo from a store robbery he takes him under his wing Frank repays his kindness by giving him the company of Glory, his girlfriend After a week she's supposed to go back to him but Mad Dog ends up falling for her complicating matters I really like Robert DeNiro, Bill Murray, and Uma Thurman The events surrounding them aren’t too exciting but they keep things afloat Interesting to see Murray play a villain for a change A bit incoherent and a tonal mess but has a great cast

Very average movie with some very good actors (Robert De Niro, Uma Thurman and Bill Murray). Bill Murray saves the movie from being awful. It's very hard to believe the love story between De Niro and Thurman, but hey it's the movies where anything is possible. It's worth a watch if you've never seen it, but don't expect much.
