Audience Member This Swedish film is mostly on Serbian and Swedish and I'll suggest that you get the version with subtitles to fully understand the story. Director Miko Lazic tried hard to copy or follow, if you prefer, the style of the more successful Balkan directors (especially Kusturica) on some Swedish way but the result was very poor. This dark comedy about an emigrant Yugoslav family trying to survive in a new country, had some success in Sweden but won't be too relevant for the most of the other countries. Some good actors were in the movie, Sasha Drakulic, Pavle Martinoski, Sloboadan Boda Ninkovic, Natasa Ninkovic, Dragan Gagi Jovanavic, Milorad Mandic Manda, Velimir "Bata" Zivojinovic - but at the end usage of the flashbacks to tell the family's story and to give a brief history lesson on Yugoslavia somehow failed. Director Miko Lazic is a Stockholm native, has directed several well-received shorts and docos and "Made in Yugoslavia" is his first feature film - that could be almost felt, because he run out of breath half way through the story. His excuse could be that he was working on a tight budget, and that is not easy to manage when you are working on locations in two countries. You could say that film has fast pace and some interesting ideas filled with off-beat humour - just enough for a positive review... Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Primitivan film o primitivnim ljudima, koji veliča ljudsku glupost kao jedinu vrlinu srpskog naroda. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member A Yugoslavian film with a Swedish flavor or vice versa. Fast pace but a little blurry with all the time leaps(?). In all fairness I need to improve my vocabulary in order to get a better grasp. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
