In this tense psychological drama, Judith (Virginie Efira) leads a secret double life split between two households in two countries. In Switzerland, she lives with Abdel, with whom she is raising a little girl. In France, she lives with Melvil, with whom she has two older boys. Gradually this fragile balance, based on lies and back-and-forth trips, begins to veer dangerously off the rails.

Peter Rainer FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) The notion of a heroine who is addicted to deception is a powerful psychological element of this film. Sep 7, 2023 Full Review Glenn Kenny RogerEbert.com But the settings are better than credible, as is the acting across the board. Rated: 2.5/4 Aug 18, 2023 Full Review Beatrice Loayza New York Times Directed by Antoine Barraud, the film... cleverly fills out the picture through tiny hints and glances, creating suspense through fresh turns of ambiguity in each scene. Aug 17, 2023 Full Review William Stottor Loud and Clear Reviews A woman navigates her dual lives in Madeleine Collins, the twisty psychological thriller from Antoine Barraud. Rated: 3.5/5 Sep 3, 2024 Full Review Manuel Betancourt FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) I don't know if it all cohered together... But the leading actress, Virginie Efira, is entrancing in trying to capture this woman's splintered life. Sep 7, 2023 Full Review Lee Jutton Film Inquiry Madeleine Collins proves that Virginie Efira belongs to that elite tier of actresses capable of elevating even the most mediocre material into something watchable, albeit still less than satisfying. john l Difficult to follow. Plot is over the top, unrealistic. Some critics have said the film is Hitchcockian. Really? Must not have been Alfred, that's for sure. Acting well done. But not suspenseful. If it weren't for the lead actress and her co-stars I would not have lasted to the end. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/24/23 Full Review StephenPaul C The greatest 01 hour: and 47 minutes ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Gosh, this is definitely the crappiest French movie I have seen in the last couple of years. The story is so ridiculous that if the director wouldn't feed all the details tiny bit by bit and back and forth in the timeline you could actually shoot the movie compacted into 15 minutes instead of boring the spectators to death for 100 minutes. What a waste of an excellent actress. 1/10 points. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Read all reviews
