Victor O Dec 13 Terry is an ex-convict who thinks that because of good behavior, he’s been let out early; that’s not exactly the case. Because he helped out the brother of a Mafia underboss, he’s forced to help out an undercover Italian carabinieri, and after spending time for dealing drugs in Europe, he’s done with that life and set for obtaining money to return home to the USA. But this is no cakewalk as he must deal with the underboss, a crazed paranoid, with all the dangers that come from being undercover. This was a nice ride. I have to say it’s great seeing Tom Welling act again, and the obligatory, though subtle, Superman references. Big, strong, a tough guy, but a good guy. Cam Gigandet is another heartthrob playing the villain, great. But I must admit I’m totally impressed with actress Cher Cosenza, who is a marvelous actress, truly showing more than just great looks. A modest direct-to-video story that I am happy to enjoy. The film plunges viewers into a world of power struggles, betrayal, and revenge within the dangerous world of organized crime. Directed by an up-and-coming filmmaker, it blends action, suspense, and dramatic tension into a satisfying, albeit familiar, narrative. The story follows Jake Rosetti (Gigandet), a former enforcer for the Italian-American mafia who is reluctantly drawn back into the criminal underworld after his brother is murdered in a gangland hit. Now faced with navigating a treacherous web of alliances and betrayals, Jake must balance avenging his brother’s death with his desire to keep his family out of harm’s way. Tom Welling stars as Detective Sean Dwyer, an embattled cop determined to bring down the mafia while dealing with his own personal demons.
