I'm not sure if the awkward acting in this moving was supposed to be intentional or not but it comes across poorly and had me cringing through the first 30 minutes especially combined with the oddly place dialogue. If you're really into the casts type of acting maybe this is for you.

Alicia is symbolized by the abandoned puppy. Judging by the whimpering in the truck at the end. Does she live or die. The pills she quit taking and the magic of Chile push her over the edge as did her peers in the film. Lots of symbolism. Sort of a Shamanic tale,

Juno Temple is one of those actresses that quietly carries a movie. She had a range of emotions to work with. It's a little tale about being surrounded by toxic relationships and the effects—good acting for some caustic personalities.

Magic Magic is a touch and go psychological thriller. Most of the plot may be difficult for most viewers to decipher due to its extreme subtlety. As the audience we are constantly debating whether we are looking at reality or what Alicia perceives as reality. There are so many things left unsaid that is never made clear. Why did Sara leave? What caused Alicia's mental state? And what on earth happened at the end? There are evidently underlying mental health issues with Alicia, some scenes lead us to believe that she suffers with trauma from past abuse. Juno Temple is very expressional and portrayed her characters inner torment perfectly. Alicia is clearly possessed by the demons in her mind. Regarding Sara there is evidence to support that she had an abortion or some sort of operation as she is seen bleeding from below in one scene. As for the ending, Sebastian Silva seemed to have lost interest in finishing the movie which leaves us with an ending that's super incomplete. If you're not into psychological thrillers then it probably won't engage you in the slightest.
