Jamie Graham Empire Magazine Working from her own story idea, producer Daisy Ridley shines in Magpie, an adultery thriller that’s a little too cool and calculated to truly ruffle viewers’ psychic feathers.  Rated: 3/5 Nov 13, 2024 Full Review Catherine Bray Guardian The narrative isn’t really the point; this is first and foremost a tense portrait of a toxic relationship, and a brutally compelling one at that. Rated: 4/5 Nov 11, 2024 Full Review Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times A lean, mean revenge thriller that knows exactly what it’s about, “Magpie” has little originality but an invigorating clarity of purpose. Oct 29, 2024 Full Review Peter Gray Cinefied A deceptively fun, pulpy effort that serves up parley and pleasure in equal measure. Dec 5, 2024 Full Review Rick Bentley KGET-TV (Bakersfield, CA) That would have been a strong movie based on the standout performances by Ridley and Latif, but first-time feature film director Sam Yates takes a Hitchcockian turn and sends the movie to an even higher level. Rated: B Nov 24, 2024 Full Review Casey Chong Casey's Movie Mania Daisy Ridley brings her A-game to this twisty psychological thriller. Rated: 4/5 Nov 16, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Anne Such a clever-creative-did-not-see-that-coming movie! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/26/24 Full Review The H You can predict where the story is going throughout the film but that doesn't make it any less entertaining to see it unfold, & the ending wrapping everything up nicely makes the movie that much better, worth the watch for thriller/drama lovers out there. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/17/25 Full Review Stephanie S Stick with this one. It’s definitely worth the patience. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/13/25 Full Review Scott P Great thriller but it doesn’t start out like that and you’re going to need a little patience but around midway it starts to pay off handsomely. The really nice gem is that it implements smart phone tech in its cool unique ending twist. Couldn’t have been made 30 years ago. 👍😊 Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/13/25 Full Review Matthew R So, first off, fun movie, but secondly, and maybe more importantly, that was some shizz that was pulled. yeah, one of them is an idiot and shouldn't have done what was done, but what was done? Whatever, watch it, its a quick watch and worth the ending. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/11/25 Full Review Sarfaraz A The film, directed by Sam Yates, stars Daisy Ridley, Shazad Latif, and Matilda Anna Ingrid Lutz. The plot revolves on a married writer, Ben (Latif), who lives with his housewife, Anette (Daisy), his little daughter, Matilda, and his baby son, Lucas. Matilda is cast as the daughter of Alicia (Matilda), a well-known actress whose homemade s*x film has been leaked. Ben always brings Matilda to the shooting stage, where he falls in love with Alicia. Meanwhile, Anette is left to care for her infant baby while becoming suspicious of her husband's adulterous escapades. The film features a straightforward plot that is neither violent or filled with tense moments. Its finale is the most shocking for the viewers, and the story's clever execution leaves them satisfied. The deception and betrayal are exposed without using physical force, and karma is right around the corner. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/30/25 Full Review Read all reviews
