Jamie Graham Empire Magazine Working from her own story idea, producer Daisy Ridley shines in Magpie, an adultery thriller that’s a little too cool and calculated to truly ruffle viewers’ psychic feathers.  Rated: 3/5 Nov 13, 2024 Full Review Catherine Bray Guardian The narrative isn’t really the point; this is first and foremost a tense portrait of a toxic relationship, and a brutally compelling one at that. Rated: 4/5 Nov 11, 2024 Full Review Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times A lean, mean revenge thriller that knows exactly what it’s about, “Magpie” has little originality but an invigorating clarity of purpose. Oct 29, 2024 Full Review Peter Gray Cinefied A deceptively fun, pulpy effort that serves up parley and pleasure in equal measure. Dec 5, 2024 Full Review Rick Bentley KGET-TV (Bakersfield, CA) That would have been a strong movie based on the standout performances by Ridley and Latif, but first-time feature film director Sam Yates takes a Hitchcockian turn and sends the movie to an even higher level. Rated: B Nov 24, 2024 Full Review Casey Chong Casey's Movie Mania Daisy Ridley brings her A-game to this twisty psychological thriller. Rated: 4/5 Nov 16, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Anne Such a clever-creative-did-not-see-that-coming movie! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/26/24 Full Review Perry S This is the most cleaver Movie I have ever seen in years. Not telling the ending, the writer of this script is pure genius. This ending I have never seen before totally original, and shocking. Worth seeing. You will think about this flick for a long time. I did. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/19/24 Full Review diane S Great movie! So happy to see a movie like this come out. In this day and age, it's a constant barrage of action and adventure movies and various other movies made either for men or for teenagers. At last a movie that women can enjoy and get into. Thank you Hollywood. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/09/24 Full Review Howard R Surprising and compelling. An unusual gem of a thriller / noir with amazing performances, music, visuals and direction. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/02/24 Full Review jason l Movie starts out very slow and a little hard to figure out exactly what's going on at first. However by the third act is definitely worth the watch. The ending is very convoluted but also very satisfying. Daisy who I've always thought had kind of a pixie-ish look pulls off the short hair. And honestly it took me 10 minutes to even realize who it was. She does wonderful acting job. So do the other characters. In conclusion very slow burning but definitely worth the ending. And it does have the hitchcockian feel to it. The shallowness of the characters I feel like is intentional. It's not really about the characters. It's about the story. It leaves you guessing as to what they're thinking and feeling and planning. And you'll be enjoying a feeling of epicaricacy by the ending. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/20/24 Full Review Christian M A good slow thriller with a solid cast and a nice twist. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/19/24 Full Review Read all reviews
