A nice little story told by Tom Bateman, with a leading performance by his lady friend, the one, and only, Daisy Ridley. It's a solid indie flick with a good slow burn type of story which concludes with a nice pay off. Really well directed by Sam Yates. A great choice if you are in the mood for a little indie flick with strong performers, and an intriguing story. I'd say that Tom does a really good job with the writing in this one because of how the flick concludes. I do not need a movie which has a point to prove, but this movie does eventually find a message to tell by the end, and the way it's told.. is a lot of fun. Thank you!

A gripping thriller anchored in a strong performance by Daisy Ridley, Magpie offers plenty of twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat. Despite a plodding middle, the movie builds ample suspense to keep viewers invested in the story and characters until the big finale.

This is essentially a chamber piece with an intriguing narrative and powerful performances from the lead actors. The script needed some tweaking and may have benefited from more preproduction feedback, and the end of the second act got a little off in the pacing. It's was a good watch, though, and I recommend the film.

This movie I had to watch twice in order to understand how Anette totally played her husband Ben. I thought this movie was excellent in it's concept and execution. Ridley should win best actress for her role. Ben is the scum your Mother warned you about.
