      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Too blandly generic, Maid in Manhattan also suffers from a lack of chemistry between Lopez and Fiennes.

Ciaran S I can see that Maid In Manhattan tries to have so much potential but this feels like a typical generically mediocre film trying to cash-in on the story of Cinderella where instead of magic fairies, step mother & step sisters, pumpkin carriage and mice that turn to horses or whatever all it has is just a hotel maid that falls in with a rich man that turns out to be a politician, and that's it. While this film isn't as bad compared to other movies that Jennifer Lopez starred in, but i certainly wouldn't say that this is a film i would highly recommend to anyone any time soon Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 04/25/24 Full Review matthias s "Maid in Manhattan" offers a delightful modern twist on the classic Cinderella tale. Jennifer Lopez shines as Marisa Ventura, a hardworking maid who crosses paths with Ralph Fiennes' charming character, Christopher Marshall. Their unlikely romance unfolds against the backdrop of glamorous Manhattan, complete with stunning fashion moments and a supporting cast that adds plenty of laughs. While the plot may be familiar, the film's energy, chemistry between the leads, and empowering undertone make it a fun and heartwarming watch, so get ready to be swept away by this enchanting love story! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/11/23 Full Review Teresa C It is a "nice" movie or a "average one" this is one of JLO's best romantic comedies { which I don't usually like} it is a little cliche but I liked the cast and story. Additionally, I think this movie was before the terrible movie giggli so I guess this is the crash before the storm Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/29/23 Full Review Po E This is a classic and all the rotten scores really don't determine how great this movie is and how it's an absolute crowd favorite Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Andre G Ok movie, this is probably every maids dream. To meet a handsome rich man that will sweep her off her feet. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/13/23 Full Review Robson T Completing 20 years of launch today. This film is a classic here in Brazil, always being shown in the afternoons by TV stations. Whenever I have the opportunity to review I see it. It's simple, fun and enjoyable to enjoy. Namrata Joshi Outlook Some of the dialogue seems to have suspiciously sprung out of a corny Deepak Chopra self-help manual. Rated: 2/4 Jan 3, 2019 Full Review Alexander Walker London Evening Standard Fiennes is at a disadvantage, an actor, not a comedian... Lopez is a perfectly efficient comedienne. But mixed together, they're a few retorts short of a chemistry lesson. Jan 12, 2018 Full Review Nell Minow Common Sense Media Undeniably pleasing if not particularly memorable.
