Linda T I though for it's time, this was a very good movie. This was ground breaking. It should get better recognition. Wish it was streaming Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/30/24 Full Review bill n AT the time this was a breakthrough film about being gay. it deserves to be credited for what it was at the time vs the revenge crowd circa 2023 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Y'all E Thoroughly underrated movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/15/22 Full Review Audience Member Very well done and very brave for its time. Though not a perfect film, making love offers three excellently performances by Kate Jackson Michael ontkean and Harry Hamlin. Jackson especially was very moving empathetic and believable. Yes, it does have some cliched dialogue but the story is a positive one about being true to your own sexuality and living an honest life. There' was nothing quite like it at the time and I really appreciate it as it helped me with my own struggle. For once, the homosexual character did not commit suicide or turn to drugs and alcohol or have a miserable life. Groundbreaking in its own way. With a beautiful title song by Roberta Flack the boot. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Dated today but revolutionary for its time. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Has a sense of emotion or compassion for every lifestyle or personal direction conveyed. Jun 24, 2006 Full Review Nell Minow Movie Mom Rated: 2/5 Mar 24, 2005 Full Review Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times This movie has some of the worst dialogue one can imagine: She: 'What about passion?' He: 'What about support?' She: 'What about betrayal?' Rated: 2/4 Oct 23, 2004 Full Review Phil Nash OUT FRONT Magazine (Denver) The final moments of the movie are among the most emotionally powerful I have ever seen. May 8, 2023 Full Review Rob Alabama Forum The writer, director and actors have fleshed out the characters and their overlapping connections in a manner that sets Making Love apart from most movies... these are people we come to understand and care about.
