Malibu Horror Story follows a team of amateur paranormal investigators as they delve into a 10 year old unresolved case, the disappearance of four popular high school boys on graduation night. While exploring a sacred cave in the hills of Malibu California, the team encounters chilling paranormal occurrences. As they analyze footage from the missing teens' camera, they make a terrifying discovery involving an ancient curse which forces them to confront their own worst fears and unravel the sinister truth behind the boys' vanishing.

A poor title obscures the sparks of greatness hidden within Malibu Horror Story. A modern rearrangement of found footage, Malibu Horror Story is an entertaining medley of stylised true crime show and found footage horror.

I had seen an early, perhaps unfinished stream of this film in January 2021 and liked it then well enough to see it in theatre. I'm glad I did! The film is very well done all around - plot, pace, acting cinematography etc.

Once the scary parts kicked in it was a good ride. Exceptional visuals for a lower budget film. Good for a matinee or on home tv, as I'm used to 2 hour movies now and it's not that. The actors did a great job. No flaws in my book except length.

I really enjoyed this movie. Did not think I was going to like this type of horror, but this was very scary and definitely one of the better horror movies I have seen in recent years. Would definitely recommend!
