Rachel H fun concept but not the best. worth a watch but maybe not a re-watch. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/21/23 Full Review Gerard I had seen an early, perhaps unfinished stream of this film in January 2021 and liked it then well enough to see it in theatre. I'm glad I did! The film is very well done all around - plot, pace, acting cinematography etc. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/25/23 Full Review Annie Not without its flaws, but this movie is a fun take on the found footage genre with a lot of good scares. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/23/23 Full Review Natalie S More jump scares than I’ve had in a very long time! It was awful in the best way. The next generation Blair Witch Project. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/23/23 Full Review San Gordon Once the scary parts kicked in it was a good ride. Exceptional visuals for a lower budget film. Good for a matinee or on home tv, as I'm used to 2 hour movies now and it's not that. The actors did a great job. No flaws in my book except length. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/22/23 Full Review Steven I really enjoyed this movie. Did not think I was going to like this type of horror, but this was very scary and definitely one of the better horror movies I have seen in recent years. Would definitely recommend! Matt Donato IGN Movies The bedrock of Scott Slone’s Malibu Horror Story is sturdy, and its concept unique, yet the film’s back-and-forth execution leaves consistency to be desired. Rated: 6/10 Oct 23, 2023 Full Review Mark Dujsik Mark Reviews Movies A mild mishmash of form and structure doesn't cover up the simple fact that Malibu Horror Story is a shallow and mostly formulaic scare machine. Rated: 2/4 Oct 19, 2023 Full Review Avi Offer NYC Movie Guru Palpably scary and creepy, but low on surprises and imagination. Oct 17, 2023 Full Review Rob Aldam Backseat Mafia Has a lot of fun playing with the notion of a found footage film. Oct 9, 2022 Full Review Kat Hughes THN A poor title obscures the sparks of greatness hidden within Malibu Horror Story. A modern rearrangement of found footage, Malibu Horror Story is an entertaining medley of stylised true crime show and found footage horror. Rated: 3/5 Oct 9, 2022 Full Review Kimberley Elizabeth Nightmare on Film Street [...] an impressive jaunt in the Found Footage space. Rated: 6.9/10 Oct 8, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews
