Michael A. Smith MediaMikes Smartly written, with strong performances, “Man & Witch” could easily be described as “SHREK meets ‘The Princess Bride’” with a little bit of “The Wizard of Oz” tossed in for good measure. Rated: 3.5/5 Jun 6, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Rhona S The most delightful family film I’ve seen in years! As a child of the 80s, I was intrigued by a film that promised to pay homage to the fantasy films of that decade…but also a bit skeptical about its ability to do so. That skepticism gave way to pure delight as the film delivered on that promise and then kept delivering. The story's creative twists are charmingly and skillfully unfolded to us, and the film keeps a humorous and whimsical tone while delivering moments of actual scariness and suspense. The acting is uniformly terrific, from the two leads down to the tiny child playing Cupid. Jim Henson’s puppets serve as a Greek Chorus of sorts in a way that engaged the children and amused the adults in the audience. And the unexpected broadening of the POV from just the goatherd to include the witch enhances the tension of the build to the film’s very satisfying denouement. The film carefully threads the needle between being a throwback to the 80s and commenting on the world of today. It’s a joy to see something that unmitigatedly “feel-good,” and it says a lot about this film that it has stuck with me in the weeks since I’ve seen it. I’d love to get to see it again and to share it with others of all ages. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/13/24 Full Review Dan R a proper homage to, and a really welcome modern update to, some of my favorite "analog era" fantasy films, and a clever love story to boot. the puppets were amazing, and the chemistry among the cast is excellent, with genuine depth in both parental and romantic relationships, conveyed in a family-friendly but real way. I definitely want to watch it again. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/06/24 Full Review Rita P It was a light hearted fantasy about finding love that made me smile and laugh. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/01/24 Full Review Katy Last night, I went to see Man and Witch and cannot tell you how incredible the experience was. Seeing Tami back on screen really gave me all the feels. She was truly perfection in this role. Her acting and dancing skills are off the charts! Her husband, Greg Steinbruner, who wrote and starred in the film, is so cute and hilarious. The chemistry between them is unquestionable. There is an army of people out here rooting for them and this film. They absolutely succeeded in capturing the spirit of 80s fantasy. The introduction before the film started about the making of the movie was fascinating, and I loved learning about the poster designer. I would highly encourage anyone to go to see this as soon as you can! It is an absolutely magical movie. Plus, the final line of the film will hit you right in the gut. (You’ll see.) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/01/24 Full Review D4N13L Absolutely enchanting! A lovely and lively production that all families can enjoy. The only downside is by the time you will see this review, poof... its already out of the theaters... and though, I very much so encourage you to seek out and take this journey to a place in time where fairy tales come alive, as soon as its available online. Oh and I'll share a thought with you on this, what if ... an all grown up Empress, now granting wishes of which only a witch can see the mirror mirror mirror on the wall and never again befall to the nothing at all, in accordance of Bastians Bux wishes, mmm mmm mmm... what if ) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/31/24 Full Review nickasun Very nostalgic to the classic fantasy/adventure films of the 80s. It’s like the princess bride and willow had a child and the child was this movie. Definitely worth watching again. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/31/24 Full Review Read all reviews
