Mandy's gonzo violence is fueled by a gripping performance by Nicolas Cage -- and anchored with palpable emotion conveyed between his volcanic outbursts.

Wendy Ide The Times (UK) Cage is utterly in his element. Aug 5, 2022 Full Review Ben Sachs Chicago Reader I didn't much care for the film, but I can see how it might appeal to gorehounds and fans of genre cinema. Mar 4, 2020 Full Review Chris Stuckmann ChrisStuckmann.com Beautifully-shot film, although sometimes the use of processed grain and lens flares were distracting. The second half was exactly what I wanted, but the first half is a bit slow. Rated: B Nov 20, 2018 Full Review Robert W. Butler Butler's Cinema Scene A revenge melodrama that practically pulsates with human agony while radiating a psychological/surreal intensity that is simultaneously seductive and repellant. This might be great filmmaking. It might be trash. I could make a case for either. Rated: A- Nov 4, 2024 Full Review Ankit Ojha Cinema Elite “Mandy” is a nightmarish fever dream that’s as hypnotic, horrifying, and emotionally devastating as you wanted it to be. Rated: 5/5 Jul 9, 2024 Full Review Kate Boyle InSession Film The score and cinematography are some of the highlights of this movie. It's one of those you have to see to understand the attention it's getting. Jul 8, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Gage H This is hell raiser on massive amounts of LSD. Nicholas cage gives a stellar performance running through the entire spectrum of human emotions. Almost all of his takes are in one shot too which shows his talent. The high intensity color and synth wave sound track are used to progress the movie forward more than dialogue is. This is peak resurgence era of Nicholas Cage. Enjoy him spiraling into madness while he can still dish it! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/18/25 Full Review Dejah S A cool, dream-like, yet action packed movie. Slow start but man, does it pick up! I catch myself thinking about it a lot. The King Crimson soundtrack is *chef's kiss* Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/16/25 Full Review CaptainBoulder T A movie with phenomenal acting that'll make you feel like your on drugs Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/16/25 Full Review Jude H. This is one of the best films ever made. The visuals are STUNNING the acting is GREAT, Nicholas Cage gives the performance of a lifetime, the plot takes a while to get into but this movie is great once it starts going. The visions and weirdness perfectly balance this film out. It’s full of metal, revenge and blood. This movie is everything i wanna see and i highly suggest watching it at night Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/12/25 Full Review Aran D At first you enter a sort of 80's middle of nowhere forest vibe. The music paired with cinematic shots over the fire grab you. It is slow to start but then takes a massive turn into revenge and all out action madness. The movie exists in its own realm. I loved it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/02/25 Full Review Ron A Terrible movie in every way. Worst director, discontinuities abound and long lingering shots are long and lingering at 10x speed! We all know Nicolas Cage is a terrible actor but at least he's unintentionally hilarious in this bomb. Director keeps telling him to stand still wide-eyed for those endless lingering shots -- or maybe Cage insisted on it, who knows. Anyway, it's pretty funny at times. But the incoherent action is baffling at best and is frankly unnecessarily confusing. The supernatural elements seem to just be there to keep the script from having to be coherent. The dialog is delivered at half speed throughout. (Was slow even at 1.5 speed.) Typically low budget gore. The bad guys conveniently tie up Cage poorly so he easily escapes -- TWICE!! They also conveniently leave his weapons hanging around so he can retrieve them. I'd call it brainless fun except it will make your head explode, which is not fun. You can't even say that the whole thing is supposed to be an LSD-induced hallucination because the director makes it clear that much of it is supposed to be real. Idiotic from start to finish.
