Barbara Shulgasser Common Sense Media Mango is a sweet story reminiscent of Under the Tuscan Sun and other tales of redemption under the influence of nature and a slower pace of living. Rated: 3/5 Nov 11, 2025 Full Review Jonathon Wilson Ready Steady Cut Mehdi Avaz’s Danish-language Netflix original, written with Milad Schwartz Avaz, is sweet enough (like the mangoes), but completely lacks any distinguishing characteristics or meaningful ambitions. A Geek Community Mango (2025) is an uneven journey with a poor start and a rocky ending, but the middle part of the journey is enjoyable and leads to a satisfying conclusion. Daniel L With Mango, Mehdi Avaz delivers a warm, sunlit romantic comedy that radiates good vibes and leaves you with a gentle, summery smile. The film strikes a lovely balance between humor and heart, blending Andalusian charm, breezy storytelling, and genuine emotion. The story follows hotel manager Lærke (Josephine Park), who is sent to Málaga to acquire a struggling mango plantation — only to clash with its devoted owner, Alex (Dar Salim). Their differences slowly turn into mutual understanding and affection, and the film unfolds as a classic yet spirited tale of love, change, and finding one’s place. But it’s Josephine Højbjerg, as Lærke’s daughter Agnes, who truly gives Mango its emotional core. Højbjerg’s performance is full of freshness and authenticity; she brings a quiet depth that makes the mother-daughter relationship both touching and believable. Her presence adds heart and resonance, grounding the story in something deeply human. Paprika Steen adds her signature humor and sharp timing in a delightful supporting role, while the interplay between generations gives the film both rhythm and warmth. Visually, Mango is a feast for the eyes. Bathed in golden light and lush colors, the Spanish landscapes become a vibrant reflection of transformation and hope — the perfect backdrop for a love story in bloom. All in all, Mango is a lighthearted and life-affirming film, with Josephine Højbjerg shining especially bright. It’s a sun-drenched Danish rom-com that reminds us how love, family, and a touch of sunshine can make everything a little sweeter. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/10/25 Full Review Craig K This was a pleasant movie. Cute and simple romance. Predictable perhaps, but the charm and atmosphere of the mango farm is Spain was enchanting, and the scenery idyllic! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/10/25 Full Review Helen R Honestly this film is just dull. The plot is so thin and predictable. It doesn’t even feel satisfactory at the end.
