I almost gave it a 5 but I did enjoy the first one more than most. This is a sequel that gives sequels a bad name... A sequel just for the money. You are'nt missing much by doing yourself a favour and staying away. At least the credits got a catchy song hahah

Maniac Cop 2 embodies all of the excess that made ‘80s horror sequels so great (well, a lot of them anyway). The stunt work alone is outstanding, but when you add in Cohen's tight script, a bunch of stellar performances, and one shockingly violent scene after the next it's apparent why fans of the series continually point to this entry as the apex.

Surprisingly better then the original the film really has a lot of shocking scenes with amazing stunt scenes. It's sadly not as good with the political undertones of the original.
