Phil Gallo Variety It's hard to tell if [Monroe] was loved or tolerated, and theories concerning her ways with powerful men exposes her mental and emotional constitution in a way that hasn't been discussed that much before. Feb 23, 2012 Full Review Read all reviews

Leaburn O Lovely documentary that chronicles the final months for Marilyn and ends with a very frustrating cut of the final film she was on. Really insightful stuff and very enjoyed it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/16/23 Full Review david f This is a documentary featuring a behind-the-scenes inside account of the making of what was the last film Marilyn Monroe ever worked on. It wasn't completed with her in the cast but Fox spent a few months trying to get the film made before Monroe was fired for not showing up to to work on account of repeated illness (and going to New York City to sing Happy Birthday to president Kennedy). There's a lot of information about how films were made in the early 60s at the Studios and the last 45 minutes or so is a reconstruction of the film using scenes that were shot (including some with Monroe) to give you an idea of what the film could have been. A pretty interesting documentary about filmmaking and about a Hollywood legend. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member When people talk about Marilyn Monroe in "Something's Got To Give" the blondie seems more sexy than "Seven Year Itch". This film is the only case which we can judge Marilyn as a sex simbol and not as a movie star. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member The production of what would have been Marilyn Monroe's final film for Fox Studios was plagued with difficulties, and despite popular opinion, most of them were not the fault of the movie's star. Fox was facing major financial problems due to another film, Cleopatra, starring Elizabeth Taylor, which was a long way over it's budget. Good documentary Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Definitely 37 minutes aren't enough to appreciate Something's Got to Give because it is an unfinished film, but what I saw, made me find out this movie was destined to fail because of the pressure, the overracted performances by everybody and the awful script it had. Marilyn Monroe's great at the pool and this is the only rescuable thing of this movie. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member It was good, but I wanted more juicy details.
