G. Allen Johnson San Francisco Chronicle It's a comedy that tries too hard to be funny, therefore it isn't. It has a plot that tries too hard to be crazy and off the wall, so it isn't that either. Rated: 1.5/4 Apr 8, 2005 Full Review Tom Keogh Seattle Times An engaging romantic farce with classic screwball overtones, offset by particularly vicious scenes of gangland violence. Rated: 3/4 Mar 25, 2005 Full Review Sean Axmaker Seattle Post-Intelligencer The unusual cultural details add a little color to the usual romantic turbulence, but it's otherwise as rote as its American counterparts. Audience Member Way too melodramatic and slapstick, also really strange for a romantic comedy. The story doesn't really make sense, especially from a character standpoint which the movie doesn't ever pause to consider for a moment. The romantic elements also don't work at all because there's no actual characters interacting. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Is trying to be funny...but its not really...
