As a mysterious space ray depletes the earth's atmosphere, swashbuckling scientist Flash Gordon (Larry "Buster" Crabbe) ; his partner, Doctor Zarkov (Frank Shannon) ; spunky assistant Dale Arden (Jean Rogers) ; and sardonic newspaper reporter Happy Hapgood (Donald Kerr) fly to Mars to investigate.
