When investigative journalist Fran Simmons (Laura Leighton) visits her hometown, she reconnects with a friend from her past, Molly Lasch (Brandy Ledford). A woman of wealth, Molly has just been released on parole after spending years in jail for the murder of her husband. Despite the evidence and her conviction, Molly maintains her innocence and recruits Fran to look into the case in hopes of finding the real murderer. However, when more killings occur, Fran begins to question Molly's claims.
