William Goss Austin Chronicle A regrettably routine catalog of dusty haunted-house tropes. Oct 1, 2014 Full Review J.C. Maçek III PopMatters Ms Negro Que La Noche is notable for being one of the few horror remake that actually exceeds the quality of the original film and for being one of the few Spanish language horror movies to gain a relatively wide release within the United States. Rated: 6/10 Feb 25, 2015 Full Review Paul Chambers Movie Chambers "Mas Negro Que la Noche" made me shudder in fear; fear that it could get worse with each passing frame. And, it did. Rated: F Feb 2, 2015 Full Review Avi Offer NYC Movie Guru Effectively creepy, foreboding and much smarter than most modern horror remakes. It should be seen on the big screen. Audience Member Tedious. Not scary. Horrible cinematography and directing. Lame. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member La original me encanta. Esta "actualizada" version es una porqueria. Maldita nostalgia. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member I thought this movie was pretty cool! It was a little slow-paced but when things started happening it picked up quickly! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member The remake is adequately adapted and directed by Henry Bedwell. There are some great things about this film, but at the same time it's seriously lacking in some areas like telling instead of showing and not utilizing the power of silence. Despite that, I think it has gotten unfair treatment in other reviews online. The film attempts to tell its story through the mood created by its scenery, set, and color. The film does not try to center in on the acting and that's okay for a film like this. However, the elements in the story are all over the place, and leaves a ton of questions. Sometimes, especially in horror movies, questions don't need to be answered. Despite the film's drawbacks, this film does stand on its own and is entertaining. It is worth a watch if you're a horror movie fanatic. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Bastante mediocre, le falta solidez a la historia. Veo demasiadas copias por todos lados. Poca originalidad Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews
