Audience Member With a title like the Mask of Diijon, how can you go wrong, and yes this silver screen classic is a visual feast,Erich Von Stroheim' camps it up, A as magician who returns to the stage after retiring, but with a macarb twist,This is a great treat,a rich cast, tight script, and well acted throughout, a classic of it's time,The sets look great, such a decadent and stylish era, very enjoyable, Love the Guillotine at the end, enjoy this vintage horror tale. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a fun, yet un-exceptional, horror film that features Erich Von Stroheim (Diijon), chewing up the scenery with his patented cold stone gaze, as a Magician, who is out for revenge after a performance ends in humiliation. The character of Diijon is quite frankly a dick, who is an elitist of sorts, looking down on everyone around him for being stupid or inconsequential. His revenge involves hypnotizing people to commit acts or murder, or suicide, and it's all pretty fun, mainly because of Stroheim's off-kilter performance which almost comes off as comedic, in a good way, to a degree. There is a scene where i swear you even get to withness Stroheim smile and laugh!, albeit it's very quick and if you blink, you may miss it. Outside of Stroheim, the ending is definitely the best part of this film, which features a pretty fun coincidence which pretty much confirms the "smile & wink" style of the film Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
