Todd McCarthy Variety The Mask of Zorro stands as a pointed riposte to those who say they don't make 'em like that anymore. Mar 26, 2009 Full Review Mick LaSalle San Francisco Chronicle The story is not important. The clash of swords, the leaps, the tumbles -- it's all very nice. But after 136 minutes, it becomes a bit much. Rated: 2/4 Jun 18, 2002 Full Review Almar Haflidason BBC.com There are no clever ground-breaking effects, just lashings of good clean fun with desperately devilish baddies, and good guys so fantastic, so clever and witty, that they make you want to weep with pleasure. Rated: 5/5 Dec 10, 2001 Full Review Wesley Lovell Cinema Sight “The Mask of Zorro” is easily the best action adventure film of the summer. It has everything you could desire, great acting, great romance and an exciting plot. Rated: 3/4 Oct 5, 2023 Full Review Dan DiNicola The Daily Gazette (Schenectady, NY) A terrifically entertaining movie, and at heart, an old-fashioned adventure. Rated: B+ Jun 20, 2023 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy Old-fashioned entertainment of the best sort. Rated: 3.5/4 Mar 19, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Micah K Anthony Hopkins and Antonio Banderas do Zorro justice!!! The two actors who played the villains did an amazing job, the music was beautiful, and so was the scenery! This movie was just done right on so many levels. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/01/25 Full Review Santiago O Exciting, emotional, this film is everything!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/11/25 Full Review Colby D. This has everything you could want in a classic swashbuckling adventure film. The Mask of Zorro takes the classic hero, Diego De La Vega, and gives him the legacy sequel treatment. The Mask of Zorro follows a young bandit Alejandro (Antonio Banderas) as he takes on the mantle of Zorro from the original (Anthony Hopkins). This is an action packed adventure full of timeless practical special effects and great sword choreography. A must-watch for any fan of old-fashioned adventure films but with the best of what modern filmmaking has to offer! I can’t recommend this film enough! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/08/25 Full Review Mitch B An excellent swashbuckling film! Cast and crew do a top notch job with the material. Johnstom MCculley would be proud. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/01/25 Full Review Alejandro E To begin with, I don't know the classic versions. If the idea was to make everything as identical as possible, the intention was quite good, although it would have been better, as there are scenes that feel overdone. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/23/25 Full Review Shay W It's fun, funny, exciting and looks beautiful. Martin Campbell is such an underrated Director. His action sequences just fizz with excitement Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/22/24 Full Review Read all reviews
