In a future beset by chaos and violence, mercenary Gibson Rickenbacker (Jean-Claude Van Damme) is charged with a mission that could change everything: protecting beautiful cyborg Pearl Prophet (Dayle Haddon). She holds the cure for a deadly disease that could destroy humanity, and must get it to scientists in Atlanta. But warlord Tremolo Fender (Vincent Klyn), fearing that his power will be undercut by peace, intends to make sure she never reaches her destination.

Few genres amuse me more than post-apocalyptic fantasies about supermen fighting for survival. Cyborg is one of the funniest examples of this category, which crosses Escape from New York with The Road Warrior but cheats on the budget.

It never distinguishes itself as anything but another Mad Max wannabe, although its minor success did lead to two straight-to-video sequels (the first with an 18-year-old Angelina Jolie, the second with OJ Simpson's freeloading houseguest Kato Kaelin).

I'm giving this 5 stars because it's criminally underrated and deserves any boost it can get. No, it's not 5 star material, the plot is silly and character development doesn't exist 😊, but the over the top fights and atmosphere are spot on. The action is placed in a post-apocalyptic world and it really gives you that feeling. Nobody watched it for its story at the time, but for the entertaining fights. You should do the same 😊

Proper 80s action, loud and at times, non-sensical. Van Damme in his prime. Just enjoy the stupidity and action scenes.

A hero with some cute women. Good camera work. Some good karate chopping and fight scenes. Plot not really that good but whp cares about plot for Jean Claude movies. All that matters is the ol swinging foot on jaw action.

Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajudou a melhorar o filme nem o van damme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom.

I get why this is rotten by professional standards, but the popcorn meter should be really high. Despite the plot holes, and the low budget, its incredibly fun to watch. Or maybe because I'm a Gen-Xer?
