Adam A I watched the first 30 minutes of this movie on streaming services and switched off my TV. Malay freedom fighters dressed and jumping around like ninjas isn't my cup of coffee. Initially labelled as a historical drama, the filmmakers then decided to call it an action flick after it drew a lot of flak from the public for its massive misrepresentation of the local Malay hero Mat Kilau. The dialogue is bad, the cinematography is run of the mill, the acting is pathetic. And wonder why they can't even get the wardrobe right. Everyone is wearing new mint condition clothes throughout the movie. But why did this become the highest grossing movie in Malaysian history? Well, it was released at the right time when the call for Malay patriotism was at one of its highest in Malaysia due to political bickering!!! That's it... period!
