Guy Lodge Variety Radwanski’s script is low on incident -- and the film, at a tight, jittery 80 minutes, can afford to be -- but this tension keeps it taut and urgent, in the manner of particularly gripping people-watching. Dec 31, 2024 Full Review Peter Bradshaw Guardian This lo-fi Canadian dramedy feels like an excursion into nothing much, as a vague college friendship is rekindled. Rated: 2/5 Oct 22, 2024 Full Review Peter Howell Toronto Star [Director Kazik Radwansk]’s drawn to characters who are hard to love but impossible to hate. In Campbell and Johnson he’s found two eager conspirators and brilliant actors. Rated: 3.5/4 Oct 8, 2024 Full Review Alexa Margorian Exclaim! A worse movie would lean into the romance, the forbiddenness of it all, but Matt and Mara isn't so vulgar. Rated: 8/10 Jan 28, 2025 Full Review Stephen Silver The SS Ben Hecht It sounds like it should be a standard love triangle plot — the plot description makes it sound like something Michael Douglas might have starred in in the ‘80s — but that’s not really what this is Dec 12, 2024 Full Review Erik Childress Movie Madness Podcast Johnson and Campbell are really good here in not overtly showing their cards as they navigate their reunited friendship. Films often botch these kinds of relationships and yet this one seems rightly modulated with that little hint of pain underneath. Rated: 3/4 Oct 28, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Dominique F The film takes a brief, non-judgmental gaze at complications without attempting to break them down - a shallow look at intimacy. This is not a bad thing. In fact, the film is refreshingly easy to take in, while its strings of subtleties allow for emotional and intellectual engagement. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/16/25 Full Review Richard B I found the dialogue to be so badly written that it was actually difficult to sit through. Characters who are supposed to be English Literature academics use the word like in like every like few like words until you like want to throw something like heavy at the like screen. Nothing really happens. I like films where nothing happens. I love films where nothing happens. Patterson, Perfect Days - brilliant films. But they are so well made. This is not. Basically this is a film in which nothing happens, badly! Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/25 Full Review Read all reviews
