Not to be a grinch, but this hour is so lightweight it would blow away even with some light flurries of thought. Go to Full Review

There’s a cynicism to this entire package that can’t be disguised by its Christmas wrapping paper. Go to Full Review

Cinema S 3d Boring and uninspired See more TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Dec 12 Matt Rife: Unwrapped is a 2025 comedy special that showcases Matt Rife at the top of his game. Rife’s stage presence is magnetic, and his ability to engage with the crowd elevates the performance, making his improvisation and crowd work some of the most entertaining parts of the special. While a few jokes land flat or feel a bit bland, the majority of the material is hilarious, over-the-top, and occasionally raunchy, perfectly suited to Rife’s bold style. The stage design and production value add to the overall energy, giving the special a polished, engaging look. Rife’s timing, sharpness, and charisma make him stand out as one of today’s most compelling comedians. Even when a few bits miss, the pace and performance keep the audience invested. Overall, Unwrapped is a highly enjoyable and recommendable special, showcasing Rife’s comedic talent at its best. See more matthias s @Thescreenasvor Dec 9 A three-star take on *Matt Rife: Unwrapped*. The first thing that stands out is the extremely cheap-looking set; it’s so bare that it becomes distracting. As a stand-up fan, Rife is usually hit or miss for me, and here he’s fun and entertaining enough, but the crowd ends up being the real highlight. Their stories are unexpectedly strong, making his job noticeably easier. That becomes the special’s main flaw: he isn’t the showstealer, and the whole setup feels oddly staged, almost as if the audience was curated by production. It’s enjoyable, but not nearly as sharp or dynamic as it could be. See more The S @Squishybunny Dec 9 I love Matt and find myself binge watching his older shows on Youtube here and there. Was excited to watch this but something was off about the show. Too much of a production with all the zooming. You can here each audience member clearly like they had a lavalier mic on, unless there was some quick boom operator. It was also short and seemed scripted. See more Jamie C @NowYouKnow Dec 8 Lately, I've been into Rife since his clips kept appearing on social media due to the algorithm. His content had a mix of compassion, humor, and empathy. When I started watching his special on Netflix, I was curious but ended up disappointed. His jokes fell flat, he seemed almost obnoxious, and his empathy felt forced. Rife comes across as a young millionaire trying too hard to relate to everyone, losing his genuine touch. It was a letdown. Hopefully, he will find his way back to authenticity instead of imitating others like Jeselnik. He should reset or fade away. Time for improvement. See more Amy J. @Amison37 Dec 7 Matt's original style was hilarious, this was not that. This special was lacking and felt more like being a fly on the wall at a group friend christmas party where you are side eyeing the things the weird friend is saying. It has it's moments but ultimately just not what a comedy special should have brought. See more Read all reviews
