Mark B The movie probably works for kids 14 and under. Its premise is somewhat derivative of Willy Wonka but with updated relatable traits and problems. You could do worse a fine TV movie. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/07/24 Full Review Yaa H So I don't know what AI tech company & Mom group sponsored this movie, because it reeks. We are supposed to swallow that the deception and suffering that happens to these teens was acceptable and positive because it happened in one night? The principle message of this movie is like a long Twilight Zone episode but not in a good way. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/24 Full Review Rick M Fairly profound, in a number of ways. The music was pretty good, too. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/05/24 Full Review Audience Member How this movie got a 80% is baffling to me, I'm only 30 mins in and its already ripped off star wars, charlie and the chocolate factory, and a slew of other movies. This is a steaming pile of shit, I've lost faith in Rotten tomatos ratings system. Have a nice day Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie really captured real life situation. I loved the meaning behind the movie. It was almost like clue. It really had you guessing. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member How has this film got such high scores. It's clearly low budget and boy does it show. The special effects are amateur, plot line poor and excitement at the lowest level imaginable. I'll never get those 98 back!!! Leslie Felperin Guardian The Willy Wonka parallels are about as blatant as the nominative determinism of the mysterious benefactor's surname. Rated: 2/5 Oct 21, 2020 Full Review Hilary A White Sunday Independent (Ireland) It's perfectly serviceable and rather tame, a good, safe watch for tweens complete with expository ballads. Rated: 3/5 Mar 3, 2021 Full Review Rich Cline Shadows on the Wall A cheerful teen attitude infuses this sci-fi adventure with enough interest to keep us watching, even if it's never remotely challenging. Rated: 2/5 Oct 29, 2020 Full Review Jo Berry Movies4Kids ...this romps along with some nice twists and turns and makes good use of its low budget special effects. Rated: 3/5 Oct 26, 2020 Full Review Jennie Kermode Eye for Film Its central concept is flawed to the point of being nonsensical and it will leave many children feeling miserable. Don't try this at home, kids. Rated: 1.5/5 Oct 22, 2020 Full Review Emma Simmonds The List It's no Hunger Games, nor Maze Runner, it's not even Divergent, but manages to generate suspense on a budget and work a host of relatable issues into its sci-fi story.
