Sam (Hugh Laurie) and Lucy (Joely Richardson) Bell are a married couple who seem to have it all: good looks, successful careers (as a BBC-TV commissioning editor and agent, respectively), matching motorbikes, and an enthusiastic love life. The only thing they lack is the one thing they want most - a baby. Sam and Lucy's love for each other, the most important thing they both have, will now truly be put to the test ... with surprising results.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

A likable cast gives Maybe Baby some romantic appeal, but its noncommittal tone makes for an earnest comedy that isn't as funny or sincere as it wants to be.

R T Ideally I would give no stars at all. I read the book when it was published and laughed out loud. Ben Elton funniest since stark but whether it was the cast or the script I don't know but it was so dull. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/04/24 Full Review Audience Member Nice jokes and Caracters ....and they still trying ..... SOMDVD Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member A movie about Hugh Laurie shagging? How delightful. No, seriously, it's a cute movie. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member I know its natural accent but after becoming a huge fan of 'House' it's very strange seeing and hearing Hugh like this. The same is true of Joely, really English but American in hit show Nip/Tuck... just weird! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Una película decepcionante que empieza muy bien y decae en un terrible final donde se intenta confundir la tragedia con lo tragicómico. Una estrella. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Because it's got Hugh Laurie in it! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Read all reviews
