At times ponderous, Me Without You is engaging due to the fine work by Williams and Friel.

Ms L Having grown up with a toxic friend like Marina, I could relate to Holly very much. Also, Holly's unrequited love of Oliver Milburn's character (which, who wouldn't be) was something I believe most women have experienced. The acting is terrific. Michelle Williams, phenomenal as always, has a passable accent, though no one really spoke with the regional accent. Anna Friel also has an amazing performance as the jealous, possessive, reckless, diabolical "best friend" who wants everything Holly has. There was only one part of the film I didn't love; the very end. It felt too contrived. Overall, I enjoyed watching, though. I plan to put my partner through viewing it this evening (he secretly hates every film I put him through). Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review isla s I liked this film as it did well in portraying a friendship through the decades - the highs and the lows. It seemed pretty realistic and it features good performances from the two main cast members - Anna Friel and Michelle Williams. It features a good soundtrack and is worth a watch. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review jordan m I thought the 2nd act where the girls compete to win the love of their professor was the best part, mostly because it was rather conventional and Kyle is a good actor. In the first and third acts they go the unconventional route of making no effort to endear the main characters to the audience and make the bizarre decision to show a character trying heroin with no serious negative impact on her life. I found myself not rooting for either of them to succeed really, and for a movie like this one it caused the whole thing to be remembered as a boring movie I endured rather than an interesting examination of female friendships. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member This was good, but the repetitive circular themes got tiresome....and in the end, it all felt very unrewarding. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/06/20 Full Review Audience Member Intimate and sad film about the nature of manipulative female friendships. I'm extra generous here because not many movies show how profound these can be - the film-making is eh. Michelle Williams kills her role as always. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member this was on so i watched it. putting off watching 'birdman' for reasons i can't explain.
