Salvo V Great movie about war (wwii), escape, friendship, cultures clash, love and the Mediterranean people. I saw it probably 20 times and it's always a nice escape from a gray day. Wonderful and iconic soundratck. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/24/22 Full Review Audience Member Una delle commedie italiane meglio riuscite in assoluto. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member A masterpiece by Salvatores, one of the most beautiful films of Italian cinema. You have to see it in the original version, without the cuts of the American or international version, otherwise the jokes lose their strength and are not understood. In the film it is clear how the promise of fascism fades to the reality of the republic and the emptiness of the promises that the war would have brought, beyond understanding the net Italian failure during the war. A film that is also moving at times, a masterpiece to watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Another movie that makes you understand Italy. Must see! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Hae not seen in quite some time, but I loved it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member hearty movie. made me feel a bit melancholic about life. how it just goes by and all there is to do is enjoy. i feel like it could’ve had more depth. it was nice and enjoyable to watch. makes you think about those 2 choices, to throw yourself at the world or to settle down with a small family and community Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/22/19 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Rated: 3/4 May 24, 2022 Full Review Malcolm Johnson Hartford Courant Salvatores has fashioned a likable, crowd-pleasing story, complete with a touching aftermath. But when one compares it with the foreign films eligible for the 1991 Oscars, Mediteranneo seems obvious and shallow.
