Brandon Yu New York Times Their adventures play out with little charm, and the writing is often baffling, including the nonstop references to Pentatonix, who are also awkwardly featured in scenes throughout. Nov 7, 2024 Full Review Benjamin Lee Guardian It exists in Netflix festive movie world, an ever-expanding place of ever-diminishing returns, and while this won’t be a film someone would consider returning to next Christmas, it’ll just about do for now. Rated: 3/5 Nov 7, 2024 Full Review William Bibbiani TheWrap Christina Milian and Devale Ellis are adorable. That’s the whole movie in a nutshell. Nothing else has to work in order to get what we need out of it. Pentatonix can’t even play themselves convincingly, at all, and it still doesn’t hurt this thing. Nov 7, 2024 Full Review Jennifer Green Common Sense Media Despite an awkward setup, when this quirky Christmas romance settles into the main act of its two lead characters' getting to know each other, it wins in tone and sweetness. Nov 20, 2024 Full Review Liz Kocan Decider Unfortunately, [Pentatonix] only has about ten minutes of screen time, and the rest of the film is a madcap adventure of a grown woman obsessively trying to get tickets for a Pentatonix show that’s, at best, silly, and at worst, absolute nonsense. Nov 11, 2024 Full Review Matt Hambidge FandomWire Meet Me Next Christmas may not be a "good" movie in the traditional sense. But within its genre, where movies often feel interchangeable with each other, there's enough here to give this its own identity, and that's something worth praising. Reagan P This movie is great for anyone who like cheesy hallmark movies! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/08/25 Full Review John C Meet Me Next Christmas was shockingly good! I went in with no expectations, and it completely won me over. The story was so heartwarming, with just the right mix of romance, humor, and holiday spirit. It’s the kind of movie that makes you believe in the magic of love and Christmas all over again. The characters were lovable, the chemistry was spot-on, and the pacing was perfect. Every scene felt meaningful, and the way the story unfolded was both touching and satisfying. It’s one of those movies that leaves you with a warm, happy feeling by the end. If you’re looking for a festive movie that’s full of charm and heartfelt moments, Meet Me Next Christmas is a must-watch. I absolutely loved it and will definitely be adding it to my holiday movie tradition! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/06/25 Full Review Bunny R Interesting that no one mentions the Ru Paul cameos. Netflix can’t make a movie without plugging one of their other cringey shows. I’ve been subjected to a lot of Hallmark Channel this year and this movie is poorly written and overproduced in comparison to their churn of cheaply made nonsense. The Pentatonix scenes give it a “fan fiction” feel, the only likable character is Teddy, and not one ounce of this is grounded in reality. The weird tantric sex couple alone is enough to turn this off. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/29/24 Full Review Brianna R I watched a lot of bad Christmas movies this season but this is not a “good” bad Christmas movie - this is a 1hr 45min cringe fest. I found myself asking questions like, why am I still watching this, HOW did some of the people in this cast agree to do this movie, there’s no way there’s still X amount of time left, is Penatatonix embarrassed by it, and which of my friends have also suffered through that I can text about it. I never abandoned ship and did watch it all the way through, but I can’t recommend someone else to do the same. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 12/26/24 Full Review Rosey R The first 40 min was corny and almost turned it off. Glad I didnt cause the 2nd half was cute and funny! We ended up really liking it. Great Christmas rom com. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/23/24 Full Review michelle g I like the plot, and the movie would be super cute EXCEPT the main character is so so so unlikable. She is rude and condicending the whole time while every other character have no other role except to serve her. Other than her there is no depth of other characters or parallel plot lines it was just all around her who is not enjoyable to watch. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 12/22/24 Full Review Read all reviews
