In this experimental envisioning of a peasant revolt in 1890s Hungary, hundreds of farmworkers rebel against landowners in hopes of receiving improved working conditions. Socialists (Andrea Drahota, Tibor Molnar, Jozsef Madaras) continually recite manifestos, laborers play protest songs and beautiful country girls liberate themselves of their clothing. s r 1001 movies to see before you die. I appreciate Jancso's work, but that doesn't mean I have to enjoy it. The scrolling artsy shots just are tedious and don't conform to effective storytelling. Jancso focuses on a feeling that doesn't resonate with me. It was on Dailymotion.
