Chris B I like this. Don't expect it to be a masterpiece by any means. It's a fun brain dead movie. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/10/23 Full Review ken k Rubbing sea salt into ones' eyes would be more enjoyable than watching this self-indulgent piece of crap movie. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member It was so terrible it was comedic. Michael Madsen was a more than poor Admiral. Thankfully his role was limited. He could at least have cleaned himself up with a haircut for the part, but no. Dominic Pace was almost as poor as the Captain of the Ship. Not one character was interesting. The story line ran dangerously close to that of time worn "Jaws". Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member If it were possible to give negative ratings, this would be it. I understand that TV movies tend to be a bit cheesy and rarely good, but this film is absolutely horrible. First off, SyFy should know better than to make a film about a US Navy vessel without having a single military consultant. It appears that principle photography took place on an old cargo vessel covered in rust. Though Navy ships do rust, they are not allowed to get to this point. On top of that, the "bridge" isn't even the bridge of a cargo vessel, much less a Naval vessel. Military uniform and appearance regs... An Admiral with long hair and wearing four rings, talking to a crew like a drunk Seaman might. The captain keeps calling Lynch "Commander", but her rank insignia is that of a Lieutenant. On top of that the captain himself is written to be somewhat of a parody of Captain Blythe. One of the lines that gets me is "You're not supposed to do anything unless I order you"...sounds military right? Wrong. Every person has a specific job and is expected to do that job without being ordered to. As for the rest of the film... Special effects are laughable. Apparently the megalodon was rendered using dated software, by incompetent artists. Usually you can tell when something is CGI, but this looks like it's out of a game from 2003. The acting is terrible. Not a single believable character or line throughout. The characters have no depth or development, and pretty much all of the dialog will make you cringe. The script, cinematography, lighting, acting, direction, and post production are worthy of a old, rusted vomit filled trashcan. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Megalodon is a surprisingly good film. It's entertaining and there is always something going on. The CGI ship & shark don't look great and the overpowered Russians isn't a fantastic part of the story. I would recommend Megalodon to anyone who wants something entertaining. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member The worst EVER! Do not waste one minute (or eighty eight minutes) watching this ridiculously horrible joke of a movie.
