It still holds the Dreamworks charm, it’s very funny, the characters are great, the animation is beautiful, and more! The reason I can’t give this a full on 5/5, is that it’s way too rushed to get through every scene, therefore not making the movie generic, but making it awfully predictable. BEST STORYBOARD AND THEME EVER Rated 5/5 Stars •  Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/27/25 Full Review Jay W Probably my favorite comedy slash animated movies of all time. The mix of story to action ratio is perfect. The movie doesn’t feel packed with information or extra unnecessary stimuli. Song choices couldn’t have been better, loved every single one of them. Hilarious to watch, funny for all ages. Brilliant cast, Will Ferrell and Jonah Hill, just perfect. What I like so much about this movie, is that it sets the right tone in the moments it needs, it doesn’t do anything more or less. For example: Megamind was confronted by Roxanne in the rain, the scene played out perfectly, the emotion was kept throughout the entirety of the scene, because the weight of the words from the script, how the actors performed it, and the music. What you see in a lot of movies nowadays, is that it is nearly impossible to have one serious scene in a movie, because the creators feel like they need to add unnecessary stimuli like jokes, during a serious scene for example. This just makes it feel corny and unnecessary, but this movie does not do that ever, this just adds so much more depth to the experience. What I also found interesting watching, was Megamind, who concluded that he needed to become the villain, since he was “no good” at being a hero, but ultimately showed more and more, that he did not want to be the villain. He forced this idea into himself. This showed two sides of him that clashed throughout the movie, which was really interesting to watch.
