Jordan Cronk Cinema Scope An agreeable if unremarkable work of indigenous realism whose familiarity of form is ably offset by the singularity of its milieu. elizabeth c I enjoyed this film as a good solid story. I like a story done largely thorugh what I am shown versus blatant exposition. I felt like they wrote a good balance here - I was told just enough to make it so I undertood what I was shown, and the visuals did the rest. The cast is perfect and each actor brings authenticity which absolutely made me feel that I was watching a true life story play out in front of me. The boundary between realism and spritiualism was seemlessly blurred, which gave the feeling of flux and overlap between the two. Wonderful! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Interesting movie with excellent acting. Slow starting but worth watching. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Great to see local Tulsa and Oklahoma scenery and some real local indigenous people that live and thrive here on the Muscogee Nation Reservation. This movie intertwines old folklore, culture and tribal humor that Mvskoke people would easily catch and to the trained eye of other tribes and cultural minded people would also catch. The movie mixing modern culture and old ways shows an example of how we adapt to an ever-changing society around us but stay true to our nature and created state of mind and being.
