Critics Consensus

Memoir of War benefits from a magnetic performance by Mélanie Thierry, whose work is often enough to counter some of the film's fundamental flaws.

Audience Member I want to see that movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/01/19 Full Review Audience Member This is not a movie where you sit back and eat popcorn. It really is painful, not only for the story line but as the movie goer. When we look back in history, a year doesn't seem so long but when you are waiting for someone to return from a war prison, it truly is forever. This movie portrays the decline that happens over time as one waits in hope and fear. War is just bad and this is another example of the many lives that get destroyed, not only the victims.
