Namrata Joshi The Hindu The love story of Abhimanyu Roy and Bindu Shakarnarayanan is one of the least appealing and absorbing to have come out of Bollywood lately. Mar 19, 2018 Full Review Anisha Jhaveri indieWire Confused and confusing about where it's going or what it's trying to say. Rated: C May 18, 2017 Full Review Swetha Ramakrishnan Firstpost Meri Pyaari Bindu doesn't insult your intelligence and yet gives you a dreamy story. Oct 10, 2023 Full Review Saibal Chatterjee NDTV Not all of it hits home. But what does sticks and makes a definite difference. Audience Member Underrated gem! Definitely worth your time! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member One of my favorites of Ayushmann. I love the fact that it deviated from the typical commercial lovestory that's become commonplace in Bollywood. You won't get into the characters if you prefer one-dimensional ones, as both the characters and the plot of this movie are complex. This is a must-see and a repeat-watcher. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review arun s Ayushmann Khuranna and Parineeti ooze charm and class but film lacks in impact right from the first scene itself. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Adi C The movie is full of cliched characters and dialogues. After watching this movie I strongly feel that they need to impose a a limit on dancing and making faces in slow motion scenes. It desperately tries to create nostalgia and reminisces too soon about just few years ago. They at least attempted to create a strong female character but failed because she also had to stay cute all the time. Hire a strong female writer, interview and get inspired by some strong female characters before attempting to create them on screen. Looks like Ayushyaman was told to maintain his cute dimples in every seen. The cuteness and lightness makes you throw up once it becomes too much. The movie is at least not so bad that I want my two hours back. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 12/16/19 Full Review Audience Member Meri Pyari Bindu gets the most undeserved bad reviews this year. Packed with the rhythm of classic, evergreen songs and decorated with jubilant performances of Ayushmann Khurrana and his on-screen family made up of the Tollywood actors, this is a consistently made film which not only works, it lifts off. The debut film of Akshay Roy never got the needful attention, but it came over as a surprisingly romantic and lived-in, homegrown nostalgia tale about Bindu and Abhimanyu. These lovers, unlike the truly sober Bollywood tradition, aren't family friends but childhood neighbours. The love, as is in the real life, blossoms with common interests: here, it is the evergreen, classical Hindi music which was decorated with the stunning voice of RD Burman and Mohammad Rafi. There may be problematic element or two in it: the writing and performance of Bindu (played by Parineeti Chopra) is good, but nothing compared to the solid performance delivery by Ayushmann Khurrana's Abhimanyu. And, the onset of the second half is a misfire. But all of this is genuinely interesting, thanks to the right kind of execution. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Surprisingly funny and cute. The Bengali angle was great. We need more Indian movie exploring different cultures. Good acting, decent comedy. Non traditional ending. We were entertained. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews
