Gene Siskel Chicago Tribune Directed by Allison Anders ("Gas Food Lodging") . . .the resulting mosaic is nonetheless powerful and sobering. Rated: 3/4 Aug 16, 2017 Full Review Todd McCarthy Variety Scarcely represents a convincing, satisfying treatment of the intriguing subject matter. Mar 26, 2009 Full Review Sam Frazier, Jr. Time Out Anders mixes real gang members with up-and-coming Latin American actresses, but this ploy fails to lend the film authenticity or vitality. The tone seems, to put it kindly, misguidedly romantic. Feb 9, 2006 Full Review Mal Vincent The Virginian-Pilot You may feel guilty about laughing, but you'll still laugh. Rated: 2.5/4 Mar 10, 2022 Full Review Owen McNally Hartford Courant Three cheers for writer-director Allison Anders... "Mi Vida Loca" is blessed with a treasure trove of fine, young acting talent. Rated: 2/4 Mar 18, 2021 Full Review Emanuel Levy EmanuelLevy.Com Anders' subject, Latinas gangs, is significant, but the treatment and execution are flawed. TJ L instant Classic, a Beyond Authentic Portrayal of Urban Gang Life in Los Angeles California in the 90's, we Need MORE Realistic Mexican Gang Movies like this Nowadays . . . i have a Tattoo on my Left Forearm that Says (Mi Vida Loca 🎲 🌹) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/22/23 Full Review Audience Member More of a comedy than anything else, this look at the Echo Park lifestyle of the 90's was absolutely, uproariously fun. I don't know how intentional the humor was supposed to be, but it worked on so many levels. It's a good, fun time. The first chapter, if you will, is by far the best one. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member love the movie was great!! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie is raw. Harsh but reality. A good movie. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews
