matthias s **Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas** - 3.5/5 As a longtime Disney fan, I can’t believe it took me this long to watch *Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas*. Anthology movies have always been my thing, and this one was such a cozy treat. It’s packed with charm, humor, and that heartwarming Disney magic that just feels like a warm hug. The Donald Duck story was alright—it’s fine but nothing groundbreaking. However, the Goofy and Max short? Adorable! Their father-son dynamic always gets me. But the real standout is Mickey and Minnie’s story. It’s the perfect mix of sweet and emotional, and yes, I absolutely teared up. This is the kind of movie you pop on when you’re curled up in a blanket, sipping hot cocoa, with nothing else planned on Christmas. It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s classic Disney holiday magic. Definitely recommend for a cozy night in! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/01/24 Full Review Aaron C I cant quite call it "unwatchable" because it's still Disney, but it is not good. Between Goofy being a terrible father and poverty stricken Mickey and Minnie, who can barely afford to eat, the combination of depressing and ridiculous is hard to get through. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/30/24 Full Review Fabrizio A The three stories are quite simple and corny, but well-executed for a Christmas movie aimed specifically at little kids. Surprisingly the quality of the stories improves a lot as the movie progresses, with the last segment (The Gift of the Magi, starring Mickey Mouse) being the best one of the bunch. The hand-drawn animation (done by the Disney Animation international sub-divisions at the time) is very well done for a small-budget project by the House of Mouse. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/10/24 Full Review Mark J An easy watch on the run up to Christmas. 3 stories, 2 of which I like, 1 a little weaker. Has good narration between and kids will like it along with adults who like the core Disney characters. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/26/24 Full Review Hailey H Best childhood movie of all time literally watched it over a billion times highly recommend❣️💕 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/18/24 Full Review Dale R This film is a collection of three shorts created by Disney’s television animation division and originally released on home video. The shorts are connected by short narration done by Kelsey Grammer and this does a good job of tying the shorts together. The first short is about Huey, Duey and Louie wishing Christmas was everyday and getting their wish; the second is about Goofy’s son Max doubting the existence of Santa Claus; and the third is about Mickey and Minnie finding a way to enjoy the holiday without much money. Each short is well animated and the stories well told, but the last one with Mickey and Minnie was predictable and my least favorite of the three, while the first was my favorite. Overall I think this movie is worth a watch. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/07/24 Full Review Read all reviews
