Seth C My biggest amount of love that goes towards this movie is the asthetic and Cinematography. Oh My god this movie looks beautiful Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/06/24 Full Review Eric P Fun movie that has Harmony Korine (Kids and Gummo) vibes to it. Almost 4 stars... for me. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/16/24 Full Review Ajangviks Really displays the feeling of skater teens! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/22/24 Full Review Dallas H If I had watched this movie when it was first released, it would have gotten a passing grade. But fast forward several years later to when the tabloids circulated the news of John Hill's toxic behavior with his former relationship with surfer Sarah Brady, and my perspective of this movie is skewed forever. I cannot hear the dialogue in this movie without directly connecting it to the stories about his behavior in real life. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/14/24 Full Review The Great John A Wow what a bunch of garbage this was! It seems like Jonah hill got a bunch of kids from the street and decided not to put them in the film only to be threatened by firearms by the kids so he eventually obliged to their needs. Terrible acting, terrible plot and terrible direction! Never liked Jonah hill and in director chair is even worse. Overall would not recommend, Don't listen to the critics in this one. Especially that implied sex scene.... *shudders* Grade: D Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/29/23 Full Review Margaret A much less interesting / funny / daring version of Kids. Kathleen Sachs Chicago Reader An earnest effort that nonetheless relies too heavily on gimmicks. Mar 3, 2020 Full Review Simran Hans Observer (UK) The attempts at authentic stoner dialogue soon become tedious, with too little plot or character development grounding the inanity. Rated: 2/5 Apr 14, 2019 Full Review Patrick Smith Independent (UK) Lending the film considerable ballast is an affecting performance by Sunny Suljic. Rated: 3/5 Apr 12, 2019 Full Review Akos Peterbencze Vulnerable Man (Medium) Jonah Hill’s directorial debut resonates on many levels with Millennials and finds a way to embrace a specific type of vulnerability. Jul 19, 2023 Full Review Dallas King Flick Feast There is a rawness to the film that is reminiscent of Larry Clark’s Kids. Although it is not as extreme or exploitative, it is honest in its portrayal of youth culture at the time. Rated: 4/5 Nov 10, 2022 Full Review Tom Beasley Flickering Myth When there's this much style and affection on show, it's a shame that the directorial perspective doesn't have the sophistication to match.
