Paul Freitag-Fey Daily Grindhouse Redgrave's flamboyant persona keeps it watchable even if the movie itself is pulled in so many directions that it fails to reach any of them. Audience Member "Murder at Midnight" follows the tribulations of a Calif. TV horror host named "Midnight" who is involved in a dispute with the producer of her TV show who wants to buy her copyrighted character so he can syndicate the show. But as the tensions mount on the business side, do do the dead bodies of those around the host. And, wow, oh, wow is this thing bad. We have at least two real actors in this bomb, but from the results you'd never know that either Lynn Redgrave -- who whispers half her dialog and screams the other half -- nor Tony Curtis could ever act! They both look like they are making it all up as they go along, and chewing the scenery was never this bad. At least Steve Parrish (as Mickey) has an excuse. He's only had nine acting roles and if there is any justice, he shouldn't get any more. The film also does not know what it wants to be. Is it a comedy? Is it a murder mystery? Is it a horror film? Who the heck knows? One thing is sure, the producers have no idea what a TV horror host does. This thing is a hard pass and I wish I'd never seen it!
