dave s Straight out of the Dogme 95 school of filmmaking, Mifune features all of the trademarks of the Dogme style – handheld cameras throughout, location shooting, natural lighting, unenhanced sound. Once you get used to the unique stylings of the film, there's a chance that you may come to the realization that Mifune is just a pretty average movie. When notified that his estranged father has died, newlywed Kresten abandons his city life and relocates to the farm where he grew up, tasked with taking care of his mentally disabled brother and, ultimately, a prostitute he has hired to be the housekeeper. It's a decent enough movie with some quirky characters and interesting scenarios, but feels like a movie that will be forgotten about the day after it's been viewed. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member if you like "oddball movies", this one's for you. good ensemble cast, especially "liva" and the boy who played her brother. the wedding night scene at the beginning was hilarious. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Another good addition to the Dogme cannon. This tale of rediscovered family members and people who aren't what they appear to be is very entertaining. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Fairly decent Dogme film. While the Dogme rule set only really worked in Festen and was subsequently just a gimmick there were still a few decent movies in the genre and Mifunes sidste sang was one of them. Indispensable. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member La otra cara de Dogma.
