Choice phrases are casually dropped, only to reappear with added profundity, and Birbiglia’s ease means that you don’t grow tired of his voice as the punchlines add up. There is, happily, plenty of life left in him yet.

Based on the opening minute, I thought I was going to hate this, but once I adjusted to his style, he really won me over. Very fun special with lots of great twists.

So so funny - my husband and I were cracking up the entire time. He tells a story really well and incorporates some very real, sometimes difficult to talk about feelings while also keeping the laughs flowing. Additionally, the background art / video aspect was very cool and was in sync with what he was saying in really peaceful way that also honed you in. Overall, he is incredibly easy to watch and listen to, his demeanor is calm and relaxing while just bringing happiness and joy through laughter. Some very relatable content too. We recommend!

While the understated, deadpan humor will not be for everyone, this is a surprisingly deep exploration of end-of-life issues. I felt less like an audience member and more like a co-conspirator.
