Audience Member A love story that conquered a lot of trials in the hearts of the viewers that made the said motion pic a great romance film in the history of Philippine cinema... Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Though it's formulaic and a little bit predictable, Milan is saved by Claudine's impressive act. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member I would've given 4 stars. However, the famous line from the movie: "Mahal mo ba ko dahil kailangan mo ko" [Do you love me because you need me] "o kailangan mo ko kaya mahal mo ko?" [Or do you need me that's why you love me?] is actually incorrect, as on both options the need (kailangan mo ko) is the reason for said adoration. That did cost it minus half a star. Heehee.. Expect the usual recipe for a Pinoy love story, but you gotta give it up for vividly depicting the real hardships, troubles, moral dilemma, and complicated lives Filipino OFWs go through as they work their asses off while their families spend their hard earned money back home. (Yeah I hate people who don't even lift a finger and live like royalty just because they think they're fortunate enough to have a parent, brother, sister, or even a distant relative who could work for them.) A couple of cheesy lines, as you would expect, but somehow a line or two will really get to you. Great shooting locations. As a whole, the movie was not bad at all. A film and a mini-documentary rolled into one. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member A romantic and drama film set in one of the most romantic place in Europe - Milan is also a retelling and reflection of OFW life because much of the movie's plot was based on the real-life situations of Filipino workers working in Italy. Portrayals of lead actors Claudine Barreto and Piolo Pascual were remarkable and has a good chemistry. Even the supporting act of Iza Calzado was commendable. The acting merits performed in this film is good enough for Milan to be an over-all recommended flick. Though, some scenes were quite over dramatic since it is a drama film, it also has themes of romance, travel and life reflection that I'm sure moviegoers will love. The beautiful cinematography of Milan including shots in Rome and Venice, well-written plot and commendable acting performances makes it one of the best Filipino movie of all-time. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member 2nd film of Ms. Claudine Barretto that made me cry... Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member I liked this movie bcos it was one of the few Filipino movies I have seen that has a realistic take on things, dealing with timely issues like being an OFW and such, could still be better without all the cheesy lines, and the supporting cast were (to me) did better than the 2 main actors here. They were good but some of their scenes felt too contrive but overall, was pretty impressed. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews
