Frazzled German stepmother Silvia (Judith Engel) takes her stepchildren, Konstantin (Leo Bruckmann) and Lea (Sophie Charlotte Conrad), on a shopping excursion to Poland, but in a fit of anger, she abandons them on the side of the road. They're gone without a trace when she returns, so she and husband Josef (Horst-Günter Marx) set out to find them. Meanwhile, the two wandering children run into a local Polish man, Kuba (Mirosław Baka), who may or may not have pure motives for keeping them safe.
