Brad Newsome Sydney Morning Herald It benefits hugely from the casting of the ever-delightful Kristin Scott Thomas and Sharon Horgan - their chalk and cheese is a perfect combination that holds interest in material that might have got a bit humdrum and schmalzy. Jul 16, 2020 Full Review Leonard Maltin leonardmaltin.com At a time when our world is drowning in uncertainty, Military Wives offers hope. It's the very definition of a feel-good movie. May 30, 2020 Full Review Mary Sollosi Entertainment Weekly Military Wives absolutely succeeds in what it sets out to do - which is, admittedly, not a particularly grand ambition, but that doesn't mean it's not a mark worth hitting. Rated: B May 23, 2020 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies The relationships, though fun, come together exactly how you would expect. But what it lacks in originality it makes up for in heart. Rated: 3.5/5 Aug 24, 2022 Full Review Dan Bayer Next Best Picture Military Wives has no grand ambitions, but it’s exactly that quality that makes it work so well, perhaps especially for those people who go into it with their guards up. Rated: 8/10 May 13, 2022 Full Review Tori Brazier Flickering Myth Military Wives successfully deploys its (generally) Forces-brand of humour well, alongside knowing where and when to pack the emotional punch. And like the choirs it was inspired by, it's pretty uplifting stuff. Rated: 3.5/5 Mar 25, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews

Ellen C It had a story-line that pushed me to stick to it through the end with my husband, who is a sentimentalist and sat weeping throughout the latter part. Will they succeed? (Foreordained.) I didn't laugh once; the comedy was the worst part of it. It was a tissue of cliches and sentimentality. It could have been far better. How? I'm not a screen-writer; I don't know. But I do know when a film is MEH. This one fit the bill. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 12/10/23 Full Review meredith w With their partners away serving in Afghanistan, a group of women on the home front form a choir that becomes and media sensation and then a global movement. This true-life story makes for a moving and easy-to-watch tale of friendship and love. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Daniel G Pleasant movie, with good music, appealing characters and some drama, but ultimately a bit cookie cutter and feel good. It was a nice homage at the end to have real military wives' choirs singing together from all over UK (including possessions abroad). Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/09/22 Full Review isla s I thought this was quite a cheesy film - its a little cliched, even though its based on a true story, it felt a bit too 'obvious' I suppose?. Its a nice enough story for the most part though and the cast do an alright job, with some nice themes. Its an ok watch but I wouldn't recommend going particularly out of your way to see this. I thought it seemed more like a TV film or an extended TV show, rather than an all out film as such, although I did like the last scene before the credits, which brought home the fact that it is a real life movement as it were. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review michael c I enjoyed this. I might never have found it had I not seen Sharon in CATASTROPHE and looked for her other work. Kristin Scott Thomas does what she does well. The music is nice. It's cute. Unsure why the audience score isn't higher. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Real life stress of being a military wife bought to the screen at a humane level. Very c Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews
