Audience Member Haunting movie, truly exceptional acting from lead actress, who was only 10 years old at the time. The movie starts slow, but we were jarred into reality when the main characters parents were killed right before their eyes. The parents were active in Kurdish independence, and for Turkey's government, this is not acceptable in any way. Film then follows theses kids through their lives as beggars and street kids, until fate throws them together with their killers again. Powerful ending, truly a surprise but it was richly rewarding. Feeling at the end of film was children are so often the most vulnerable victims of war, and if more of their stories are told, maybe humanity will save itself. A truly universal film, this is set in Kurdish region of Turkey, but it could be many places where oppressed minorities suffer. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member This film was great! The plot was nice as well as the moral and production but my biggest praise goes to the acting. More specifically, the acting by a 10-year old girl in the leading role. It was an extraordinarily haunting performance. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Wow!!!!!! Just Brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Moving story of Kurdish orphans trying to survive after their parents were murdered by paramilitary soldiers. A Turkish La Haine replete with a rap soundtrack. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Read all reviews
