      Jordan B This had the makings of a considerably better movie. It starts off stating clearly that the film will be a parable. All well and good. The acting was on the whole competent, the script engaging. The meaning intended by the events in the film were clear to anyone with a passing familiarity with the New Testament. The film ends with a positive note. SPOILER ALERT At around the one hour mark, the credits roll. If the film had actually ended at that time, the film would have earned a solid 4 stars. A Christian film which refreshingly avoided being heavy handed. Instead you find out that the film is being watched in a theater by a group of friends. The 'Christian' friend then proceeds to describe in detail what each point in the parable actually meant. Well, there goes the subtlety. You then get 20 minutes of the obligatory conversion story. The film as presented is aimed exclusively at a conservative Christian audience. It does not, as claimed, witness to non-Christians, who will be turned off by the heavy handed ending. The filmmakers missed a golden opportunity to release a film with a much more universal appeal. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
