Bob Strauss San Francisco Chronicle The premises within "The Premise" yield stories crafted with care and played-out with sincere commitment - even when it's all in the service of snide irony. Rated: 3/4 Sep 14, 2021 Full Review Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News Unlike Nolan's emotionally deficient behemoths, Schultz's scrappy gem fires up the heart as well as the brain. Rated: 3/4 Dec 31, 2020 Full Review John DeFore The Hollywood Reporter It asks us to suspend disbelief in order to work through some concepts about memory and identity that real scientists spend their lives on. Happily, it never feels like homework. Dec 4, 2020 Full Review Bee Delores B-Sides & Badlands Schultz works magic to haul you into the story, provoking you to engage with these deep scientific advancements and the implications it could very well have on our daily lives. Rated: 3.5/5 Aug 26, 2024 Full Review Jeff Ewing Forbes It’s a well-executed and thoughtful concept that has some truly novel thriller elements and an excellent command of pacing, making it one of the best sci-fi films of the last few years. Jun 30, 2023 Full Review Jessica Scott Nightmarish Conjurings This smart sci-fi thriller doesn’t give viewers easy answers, nor does it need a huge budget to make its mark as a clever genre entry. Jeffrey P Slow, mildly intriguing despite leaning too heavily on the science aspects to allow for a grasp upon the premise... should have been titled 'No Premise.' Not a bad premise, just very poorly executed. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/11/23 Full Review Adrian S very good. fascinating how small behaviour changes give impression of major character differences. deserves to be far better known. hope the team who made it are funded for more projects. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 09/10/23 Full Review Bessie B I liked this movie a lot. Very interesting concept, good acting, no boring scenes or bad dialogue. The only thing I think could have been better was the ending — I loved the ending itself, despite seeing it coming, but I think Allie could have been a little bit better about verifying which Ethan she was talking to…. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/29/23 Full Review Saint I really enjoyed this movie. It reminds me of Primer and feels like it belongs in the same subgenre category! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/23/23 Full Review Paul G It's a futuristic play on Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde but it's just not not interesting enough for me. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/20/23 Full Review Joe W This is as bad as they come. Ridiculous story in a one-room setting. Very poorly lit so that you can't see the poorly constructed set. Those positive reviews I see are from the crew of wrote and made it. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 05/01/23 Full Review Read all reviews
