Tim Brayton Antagony & Ecstasy Far more engaging in its complete messiness than a lot of far neater, more coherent movies can possibly approach. Audience Member Nice idea, but dragging, long, slow and boring. The movies message: "Immortality sucks, it brings nothing but the suffering" was not particularly convincing. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member In the near future a small group of Russia's wealthy elite travel to a site where they believe aging can be halted. Their decadent, jaded lives become moreso. Their behavior becomes gradually more extreme as exemplified by sex which is invariably violent, demanding, and uncaring. Some are more affected than others. I wasn't affected at all. Didn't care what happened after the first hour at best. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member this was canceled the first time i tried to see it, so I saw it the second time round instead of Attenberg. anyway this was so worth the wait and the two and half hour run time. In the future Russia of not too distant 2020 some wealthy friends take a trip to an abandoned physics experiment in a remote area known to have the clearest skies in the world, the experiment is large platform designed to harness some kind of cosmic radiation. Anyway spending a night inside it will freeze the aging process and also cause an abundance of inner youthfulness. It's this inner vitality, energy, and lust for life that never lets up that drives nearly allmost all of the characters to extremes and ruins. That kind of dark of moral tale element was common at the festival this year, but what set Target apart for me, along with the wonderfully lighthearted score, and general Victor Pelevin-ishness of the whole thing, was the purely romantic elements in those characters who become aware of approaching burn-out. Their solution to their dilemma was a heartbreaker. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Read all reviews
