Another beautifully animated triumph for Laika, Missing Link is a visual treat with lots of humor, plenty of heart, and even a little food for thought.

Kathleen Sachs Chicago Reader The film is sophisticated in its revisionist take on the adventure genre, introducing social and ecological concerns into the mix, though its irreverent humor is still accessible to children. Feb 19, 2020 Full Review Christy Lemire FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) The pieces are all there... [but] I kind of would have preferred to watch the making of the movie than the actual movie. Sep 27, 2019 Full Review Roxana Hadadi Punch Drunk Critics With its nuanced narrative and astonishing visuals, Missing Link -- meticulously detailed and thematically dense -- is another delightful offering from Laika. Rated: 4.5/5 Apr 16, 2019 Full Review Bianca Garner In Their Own League There is a reason I have a huge place in my heart for stop-motion animation as a medium. It could be the painstakingly crafted claymation, the heartwarming stories perfect for any demographic, the stellar voice casts, or all of that coming together... Apr 21, 2022 Full Review Lonita Cook KCTV5 News at 9 [A] genius stop-motion animation. Sep 14, 2021 Full Review Michael J. Casey Michael J. Cinema Enjoyable for kids who haven't been beaten to death by the same old, same old, but for everyone else, there's a predictability to each scene. Genesis 1 Decent animation..plot could have been better.. voice acting well done..look for the sequel Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/18/24 Full Review Wade W Missing Link flew under the radar a bit when it came out in 2019. I'm just now watching it in 2023. It features an excellent voice cast, with Jackman, Galifianakis, and Saldana, among others. It's a concise little film about an explorer who sets off to find a Sasquatch in Washington state. Once he finds him, he's a lot funnier and friendlier than he thought. The two, along with Saldana's character, have to face off against a so-so villain in the end. It's an inoffensive and sometimes adorable picture that can be enjoyed by both kids and adults. Once the movie ended, I found the missing link to be missing "something" because it just kind of, happened. It doesn't do much to stand out. The story isn't exactly captivating. But it did entertain me and made me chuckle from time to time. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/16/23 Full Review Gareth v A fun and beautifully animated movie. One of the more under appreciated family movies of recent years. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/07/23 Full Review Javier832 H The only thing I really enjoyed was the credit's song Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/17/23 Full Review G D Watched on Netflix, a very enjoyable movie. I found it genius how they explained the title of the movie in the film and why it is so important. Good overall. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Drew F It's the weakest Laika film. Which means its an absolute masterpiece of animation, at least. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews
